EARTHRIDE
THE CHALLENGE
Earthride is a non-profit organization helping inner city kids learn about nature and ecology by involving them in activities that inspire an eco-friendly lifestyle, mentoring to promote academic and personal growth, and environmental education through classes and field trips. They needed a Web site that would reflect the seriousness of the fledgling program and help their efforts to appeal to corporations and private foundations for donations, sponsorships, and grants.
THE SOLUTION
I helped Earthride identify and prioritize their target audiences, then set up a simple site structure that will expand logically as the organization grows. The designers created a visual look that captured Earthride's inspirational, motivational message, utilizing dynamic colors and action-sports imagery. Upon launch, Earthride immediately received a positive response from both their targeted kids and sponsors.
PROJECT DELIVERABLES

|
Flowcharts indicate the user's path to areas and resources in the site. It grows out of the discovery phase, and typically begins as a conceptual model, or overview flow, which is then expanded to eventually indicate all pages and interactivity. A wireframe is the skeleton of the page layout. Generally NOT to scale, and frequently scribbled on a napkin or a whiteboard, wireframes are usually internal documents developed with the designers. Functionality may or may not be indicated, depending on the needs of the project. Click on the image to see this project's wireframe. |
