SpiralWest, Inc.
Director of Information Architecture
SpiralWest is a creative media agency specializing in Web design, where project sizes range from 20 pages to 2,000 pages, from simple informational sites to highly interactive e-commerce and entertainment sites. I began as Content Manager and was promoted to Information Architect, where I was responsible for establishing intuitive information hierarchies and effective user interfaces for web sites and information systems that allow users to achieve their goals and fulfill the clients' communication objectives. Part of the project development process includes:
- User discovery and needs analysis
- Content organization and management
- Navigation design, information hierarchy, and taxonomy
- Prototyping and user testing
- Interaction with Client, Design, and Production teams to complete projects successfully
Clients included: Intel, Cadence Design Systems, Century Theatres, Champion Ventures, Universal Wine Network, Trancos, Earthride, Montgomery Research, Business Radio 1220, HumanBasics, VulcanSoft, Cambridge Consulting, Pension Benefit, Pulse Combustion, Remedy, NewBasis, Virtual Purchase Connection, Mt. Diablo Center for Performing Arts, and Bank of the West.

Star Reach
Manager
Star Reach is a talent agency representing artists and writers who specialize in graphic novels, comic books, and interactive media. Besides administering daily operations, and general bookkeeping, responsibilities and achievements include the following:
- Develop content and information hierarchy for the company Web site
- Research and evaluate industry news using online and print resources
- Write a monthly client newsletter, furnishing industry news and market research for our clients
- Supervise production of the Star Scanner, a quarterly industry newsletter
- Revise, redesign, and supervise production of the Client Directory, one of Star Reach's primary marketing tools, saving the company more than $5000 in production/design fees
- Review submissions from prospective clients
Audio Visual Images
Office Manager
AV Images is an audio-visual projection company providing equipment rental, service, sales, and event production. Besides general office administration, marketing, and bookkeeping, responsibilities included:
- Customer service
- Inventory maintenance and purchasing
- Supervision of the equipment rental and accessory sales departments
L.B. Lights West, Inc.
General Manager
L.B. Lights West, Inc. is a dynamic concert and tradeshow production company; my primary responsibility was the supervision of all daily operations, which included a great deal of creative crisis management. General responsibilities included the following:
- Contract administration
- Event logistics
- Employee and event scheduling
- Equipment and truck maintenance
- Purchasing and shipping
Cahn-Man
Executive Assistant
Cahn-Man is a busy entertainment law/talent agent/personal management firm for Bay Area musicians. I administered daily operations, bookkeeping, and other tasks, including:
- Event and promotional coordination
- Contract administration
- Assist the primary agent
University of the Pacific
Concert Director
University of the Pacific hosted a variety of events, including concerts by performers such as the Clash, Kenny Loggins, Cyndi Lauper, the Pretenders, and Chuck Mangione. The program was highly successful under my supervision, and I recorded the first financially profitable season in the history of the department. I was promoted from the position of Production Manager, which involved coordination and execution of the technical rider of major concerts with the artist's production staff, local event contractors, and our own crews. As director, some of my tasks included the following:
- Negotiate the contract with the talent agent
- Conduct cost projection/analysis and marketing research
- Supervise all advertising, catering, security, and stage crews
- Conduct settlements for all events
- Develop and present yearly budget for the university's approval
- Train incoming replacement
